Fertilizer
Dry and Liquid
What is fertilizer?
Fertilizer is a substance applied to soils or directly onto plants to provide nutrients optimal for their growth and development. The essential nutrients contained in these fertilizers are nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (NPK), as well as other nutritional substances in smaller amounts—all presented in a form that can easily be absorbed and metabolized by plants
What are the Ingredients and N-P-K Numbers
A GUARANTEED ANALYSIS
This analysis shows the percentage of fertilizer by weight of nitrogen, available phosphate and soluble potash. This is called the guaranteed anaylsis of the fertilizer.
The first number is Nitrogen (N), which promotes overall plant growth.
The second number is available Phosphate (P), which promotes strong root growth.
The third number is soluble Postash (K), which helps plants to withstand stress, drought or disease.
Dry Fertilizers
DAP
Diammonium phosphate (DAP)is the world’s most widely used phosphorus (P) fertilizer. and is made by reacting mined phosphate rock with phosphoric acid. DAP is then reacted with ammonia. and is popular because of its relatively high nutrient content and its excellent physical properties.
DAP fertilizer is an excellent source of P and nitrogen (N) for plant nutrition. It is highly soluble and thus dissolves quickly in soil to release plant-available phosphate and ammonium.
POTASH
Potash is a naturally occurring mineral created during the evaporation of ancient sea beds. Potash is also referred to as Muriate of Potash or Potassium Chloride and is the most widely used potassium fertilizer. Potassium is one of the three primary crop nutrients required for plant growth. Potassium serves as the “Regulator” of many essential processes within the plant. Potash is water-soluble and contains 60-62 percent K2O. Potash products vary in color from red to white and are available in several sizes, providing choices for most application options
UREA
Urea is the most concentrated dry Nitrogen fertilizer on today’s market.
Urea is 100% water soluble and is mobile in the soil, moving with soil moisture until soil organisms initiate the nitrification process that changes the organic Nitrogen to ammoniacal Nitrogen and eventually to nitrate Nitrogen. Urea will supply a continuous, long-lasting supply of Nitrogen to the growing crop.
Liquid Fertilizer
UNA 28% and 32% is a nitrogen fertilizer solution composed of urea and ammonium nitrate and approximately one-half of the N is from urea, and one-half is from ammonium nitrate.
Nitrogen in soil applied UAN32% Solution is rapidly available to plants. One-quarter of the total N is immediately available as soon as it reaches the root zone.One-half of the total N which is urea, moves throughout the soil water until it is hydrolyzed by the urease enzyme forming ammonic nitrogen. Ammonic nitrogen is converted to nitrate by soil organisms, usually within a few week after application.
28% is a very good nitrogen and is a clean nitrogen. 28% is a better source of nitrogen than anhydrous ammonia which is very hard on soil structure, it’s very hard on all sorts of biology.

Soybean Seed Treatment
Let Riden Farm Supply treat your soybeans with proven fungicides and insecticides.
Don’t let your soybean be affected by Phytophthora root rot, Pythium or Rhizoctonia or pest like wireworm and soybean aphid. Let us help protect your investment and give you the best possible chance of raising a great soybean crop.
Currently we are treating soybeans with Acceleron by Monsanto and Inovate by Valent. Give your seeds the best possible start with these products. Contact Justin McGrew at justin@ridenfarmsupply.com with any questions.
